CPU/Ram: 450 MH 1 Gig Ram
Comment:
I just noticed that the title of this forum changed
from 'Standalone Dos' to 'Disk Op. System'..
Hmmm..'Disk Operating System' is actually only a
colloquialism (is that a word? :) , and in fact MS
has never, to the best of my knowledge, ever
referred to dos this way, and if they did, in fact
perceive of 'Dos" as an abbreviation for such,
wouldn't 'Dos ' be 'D.O.S.' instead of 'DOS', as is
marked on every MS disk i've ever seen?.
Just a thought...

Hey,

Either way, I have the name as that for the reasons listed in the posts above. However, I generally assume wikipedia to be right. See this entry and this entry.

It was just a trivial concern, raelly..i just
overlooked that heading when i was looking for
the 'dos' section..
The wikipedia entries are interesting, though, in
that "dos' apparently is called "disk operating
system' because everybody assumes that's what
it means, and everybody assumes that's what it
means because that's what everybody calls it :)
