You may disable SMARTDRV cache for each drive when SMARTDRV is running. For example, assume you have Drive A, Drive B, Drive C, and Drive D:

SMARTDRV A- B- C- D-

Help for virtually any DOS command (including smartdrv) can be obtained by use of the /? switch:

smartdrv /?
