I don't know a whole lot about computers, so maybe you can
help me with this. When I type dir to view possable
commands all i can see is the last ones listed, is there a way
to "scroll up" to see what other commands i can type in?

In the command window you can pipe the output to more [dir /? | more] or redirect the output to a file so you can view it in an editor or print it.

Technically a "Windows question" - if you open a DOS window, and have the number of lines set to 50, you can use the scroll bars.

"When I type dir to view possable commands"

Ok - that's not really what it does, it lists directory contents (files & 'folders')

"to see what other commands i can type in?"

ditto

We're glad to help, but it is generally preferred that you post questions in the most appropriate forum - which in your case would be WinME.

fwiw - there's a forum description at the top of this page, explaining (somewhat) that Windows questions are likely best posted elsewhere, as usually their solution lies within windows.

That was the case here

I remember seeing that message before - of course in most cases we do have more than one word (heh) - but I didn't have a problem in another recent one word reply

Yeah, I just added a second 'word' that was an unprinted HTML command.

Maybe there's a minimum length then (I'd put just 'Calmira' in another post). Otherwise, sure, HTML code 'counts'

Another one of Justin's failsafes

Yes - a well kept secret (that we keep revealing)

The first versions I'd used weren't anywhere near that informative
