CPU/Ram: PII 400 / 64 MB

I am trying to delete the primary partition using Fdisk so that I can reset the partitions. I have deleted the logic and extended drives. When I go to delete the primary drive, it lets me select it but give the following error message:

"could not change partitiions because the disk could not be locked."

If anyone knows what this means and how what I can do, please let me know.

At the dos prompt, before runing fdisk, type in;

lock c:

and confirm when asked, then run fdisk.

i ran into the same problem. I followed the response and tried to lock c:. When I confirmed it, it said that the lock operation failed. Any suggestions? Thanks.
