I have a Dos 6.0 Os and am running Win95. My hard drive is 1 gig. I have deleted an extended partition with two logical drives using fdisk. When I check the size of my c-drive, I only see 402mb. What do I have to do to see the remaining 600mb? The whole purpose of deleting the partitions was to enlarge the size of my c-drive.

What you have done has nothing to do with making your Primary partition bigger. All you have done is delete your extended partition. To use all your hard drive you would have to delete your primary partition too and then recreate your primary partition to 100% of the drive. Problem is that(unless I'm mistaken)the Dos operating will only recognize 500 some meg anyway.

DOS partition can see and use up to 2GB.

Using FDISK, you can not re-claim unused space. The only way possible is to delete the partition and re-create it with the proper size. Keep in mind that deleting a partition also deletes everything on that partition. You might want to back-up you files before experimenting with FDISK.

I believe you can use a utility such as PQMagic to re-claim space in a partition without deleting a partition but I'm not sure.
Someone else want to confirm?

CountryGal is right in that Partition Magic is the tool to use. And a little-known fact is all you need is a PM rescue floppy - Partition Magic doesn't have to be installed on the machine.

PQMagic isn't free, but PRESIZER is. Though, I caution...I've never used it...you could just get PQM from my page then :)
