I have Win XP and i don't like PerfectNav.. (if you have XP you prolly know what im talkin bout) everytime i type in an invalid website address, i don't get the normal "IE: 404 page not found".... it brings me to a gay PerfectNav page and i don't like it, and i want the normal page not found... i found this file on my PC:
C:\Program Files\PerfectNav\BHO\PerfectNav150.dll

I guess this is the file thats causing it, so i want to delete it... (its the only file in these perfectnav directories, so it has to be the right one)
it won't let me delete the file, so i turn to DOS....
can someone give me the exact DOS Command i would use to delete it? PLEASE i have been searching google for an hour now and i've tried
deltree C:\Program Files\PerfectNav\

but it won't work... someone help me

Hi, this really should be posted in the XP forum.

Whilst I appreciate when CMD.exe is executed you get a Command Line Interface, which looks like MSDOS and some of the line commands have the same results, it is in fact not MSDOS it is purely the Command Line Interface of the NT family which itself was based on IBM OS/2. Even Linux/Unix looks and feels similar to MSDOS in Line Command function, but it bears no relationship.

Some good information can be gleaned here about why the NT family Command Line Interface is not MSDOS:

I use XP and have never used PerfectNav!

Apart from that, You do not delete Windows Programs from the Command Prompt! You go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and delete it from there!

It is of course possible that PerfectNav is a Internet Explorer add-on, in which case you would need to delete it via IE.

This is not therefor a DOS Problem at all!

PerfectNav is spyware that is integrated into Kazaa. Uninstall Kazaa and reboot your machine. If PerfectNav is still listed in your Add/Remove programs, uninstall that as well.

In that case try one of these SpyWare Removers:

AdAware 6.0 from :

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Or Spybot-Search&Destroy from :

http://www.safer-networking.org/

Which will also help you rid of other or future infestations!
