On older computers, if the Bios has the password function set, you must enter it to boot up. If you know it, enter it to enter the bios section and change the setting. If you don't know it, you'll have to open the box and move the jumper on the Mainboard that is labeled something like one of the following:

reset cmos
bypass pswd

By the way, you must enter bios before your computer asks for the bios password. The password lets you in. This is usually done by pressing the del key during boot, but there are several possibilities. Sometimes you can just hold down a key like esc and turn your system on. It will complain a lot by beeping at you; and it will give you a keyboard error, which is what you want. Then it should give you the option of continuing by pressing F1 perhaps or entering Setup by pressing F3 perhaps. Like I said there are many possibilities. Watch your screen carefully for any clues on entering BIOS Setup. Luck!
