How do you run defrag in 622. How do you run scandisk in 6.22. When I ran defrag it said my FAT files were messed up. Any help appreciated.

If you have errors on that drive you cannot run defrag until scandisk has fixed them. From the dos prompt type SCANDISK and press enter.....it will scan your hard drive for errors....after it has fixed the errors it will prompt you to do a surface scan, click on yes and after scandisk is done, from the dos prompt type DEFRAG and press enter....hope that info helps you out....

When I type in scandisk it says this only works with version 6 and 6.2. Could my system files be messed up? I always did it just like you said and it always worked. I recently had some work done on it cause it quit and the computer repair people said they had to reinstall my system files. Still trying.

At the c: prompt type ver, see what version of DOS your system is reporting. I am betting that it is not the same version as you had put on, and the repair folks restored system files using a different version.
