I cruised my local thrift store today and found a ton of 5.25 inch 360k and 1.2mb disks with various software titles like Tandy DOS, Oregon Trail, WP4, Chess. All circa 1988 or so.
Problem is many of them have bad sectors now (not an unexpected situation considering the age of these puppies).
Norton Disk Doctor just wants to try to relocate sectors, not repeatedly read the bad sector to try to obtain the data. Anyone know where I can get some Data Recovery software?
I'd appreciate it.
E-mail me or post here if you have any ideas.
Anything I can recover I'll upload to my web page if anyone wants to play. And please, no one suggest scandisk, fdisk, or re-format.
Now where's my beer? It's 96 degrees today in beautiful SUNNY Sacramento.

Its an overcaste 69º here in North Yorkshire, but I still like a cool beer myself!
The problem with Floppy Disks over Hard Drives, is that when Data is damaged by a Bad Sector it is normaly beyond economic recovery. As you say repeatedly trying to read disk sometimes works. Of the titles you list I have a copy of Word Perfect 4 somewhere (I think!)Let me know what other titles you are having problems with, I may be able to help.
