Hi when I run this command in nt4 dos;

copy f:\issued\1760\96CX03289*.* I:\craig\1760-01\3-42600-DE-54408-0051*.*

The dos window tells me it has copied two files 96cx03289f1.txt and 96cx03289f2.txt, but when I check the directory there is only one file 3-42600-de-54408-0051.txt.

It seems that this file is the latter of the two (...f2.txt)

Is there a method of copying and renaming with wildcards in nt4 dos which will handle the filename lengths above?

Thx in advance - bza

To the best of my knowledge. when using RENAME the source and destination folders have to be the same.
