I would like to connect my old DOS computer with an ethernet card to a normal LAN using TCP/IP. And I would like to share the drives for other (more modern computers using win98 typ.). Is this possible. Plese reply by mail.
I would like to mention that it is a very bad idea to ask for a reply by e-mail. Chances are pretty good you won't recieve a response at all. It's very important to have the answers to queries posted on the forum for others to see. For example; I wouldn't have picked up the tidbit today about using the Edit /70 command to open a file in binary in post Post 6535 had the response to the question been returned by e-mail. Searching the archives for these forums is a very valuble resource, but the searches would be useless if all replies weren't posted. Also, it smacks of personal service that most of the helpers here charge fairly hefty amounts for in real life. That isn't to say that you'll never get any help by e-mail, but please leave it up to the helpers to decide whether that is required or not.
