I am trying to get a program to work on a DOS PC that has been compiled in Visual C with overlay linking. The program keeps crashing because of not enough conventional or not enough upper memory. Any ideas

Sounds like you need to add memory, or someone needs to re-write the program to work within the DOS memory parameters. It's up to the program as to how much memory it needs.
