Config.sys for X-Wing with sound

I'm trying to run X-Wing. It won't run if under Windows 98 at all. I can get it to run in DOS off a boot disk (EMS etc...) but with no sound. I can run SETMUSE under Windows 98 and get the sound to work. My config.sys does not have a line specifying the sound card (Sound Blaster PCI64V). Do I need a DOS driver? Where do I get one? How do I set up the config.sys file correctly?
