Computer Freeze

I was given this computer a month ago, and only tried it out today for the first time. It's quirk is that it simply freezes/hangs, sometimes straight away or after a minute or two, after which I have to shut it down by pressing and holding the power button (as per normal for ATX). Once shut down, it won't switch on. I leave it for a while, say 5 min, and then I'm able to boot it up, and the cycle continues. I've tested this with and without floppy/HDDs/cards connected (except the video card). I removed the original AGP video card, and installed an ISA card, I also replaced the ram stick(s) and still the same problem occurs. I suppose it could be a heating problem, but how can I make sure? The cpu does not have a therm. lead.

A question better suited for the hardware forum...

That being said, you could go buy a can of Minus62 (or any freeze spray) and hit various components with it to isolate...
