You will need to make sure you have a startup disk for Win 98, then format the hard drive. This will wipe it clean, then boot up with your start up disk and reinstall win. You will lose everything else on te drive, and have to reinstall programs one by one. if you have any data files or docs that you want to save you will have to copy to disk or back up to disk first.

Mike.....Could you be alittle more specific!! I have watched my computer tech do basically what you just decribed in your Response #1, but it goes alot deeper than that. What I mean is...OK....your computer won't boot up period...be it Win98 or Safe Mode...but you can get into your A:\ via Command mode.
There are choices you have to make that I am not aware of like...delete these partitions, etc and I too am clueless! Thanks
