Reply: (edit)If you are saying that legacy DOS programs do not run under Windows XP, Yes they should run under Win ME. Windows XP (as 2000 and NT) is a NT kernel system while Windows 9X and ME are based on DOS kernel. Tweaking XP appropriately can enable DOS programs to run, but that requires a good knowledge of both NT and DOS and satisfaction is not guaranted.

Reply: (edit)I would reccomind downgrading to win98 SE, or win 95 OSR2, DosBox, will help rin the program, but I don't know about hardware use, it is also very slow on a Celeron @ 1.1 Ghz., and 128Mb. RAM running XP Home. The cheif at the local fire department works at a company that had the same problem , thew downgraded to win 2k, but 95.98 has even better DOS support, ME crashes a lot.
