I have a compaq laptop and I cannot seem to be able to get into BIOS which means i cannot set a password for myself. Can anyone help me to get into BIOS please

i suggest that you first try hitting enter to get the boot comercial from your screen, than try F1, F3, Del... they usualy work, if not call compaq support and ask them.

and download the Diagnostics/Setup and/or the Supplemental Programs SoftPaq for the model of ComPaq Laptop you have.

As I posted above, download the 'Computer Setup and Diagnostics for Portables' (SoftPaq SP 2054) This is a 2 Disk Set. Disk 1, Computer Setup/P is the BIOS Setup Program. ComPaq Laptops do not have HotKey Access to BIOS, But a Boot Disk Setup.
This will enable you to set the Password.
