I have a dos-program, which I use to communicate with a peripheral unit. I have now updated my system to XP, and now I can't get 100 % contact with my unit. Sometimes when I make a call to the unit, it responds back but most often it doesn't. I have tried with different kinds of autoexec and config.sys-files, but it doesn't help. I have also tried to slow down my seriell port, but... This program work's super on a Windows95 machine. Is there anyone who could give me hint, of what I might do wrong? Any tips would be much welcome!! Thanks in advance!

XP doesn't use config.sys or autoexec.bat files. Win95 did. Any changes you make in those two files won't make any difference when using XP. However, you can try right clicking on the icon for the program you're running. Click "properties" and then "compatability" and try checking the Win95 compatability mode.

Sorry, slipped on the keyboard...I don't use autoexec.bat or config.sys, I use autoexec.nt and config.nt. However, I have tried to change the properties to compatibility: windows95, but this doesn't help.
