We have 1987 Commodore-Amiga computer at work. It was to be y2k compatible after the techs worked on it. But it is not working--it won't take any disks. Only when we type dos and return we get a new screen but we can't do anything else (and we don't have the budget to buy a new computer) Does anyone have any suggestions? HELP!

hmmmm.....
Call me crazy, but.... what would you be using a commodore for now days?my suggestion, throw it away, get a USED new computer from your local repairshop etc.
You can get 486 ones for like 100 bux anywhere...
they work great for word processing etc...

Sorry, but you are going in wrong way!!!!
Amiga use AMIGADOS
PCs use MS-DOSfor example you speak English I speak Portuguese!
Do you understand?????

Hey hold the Amiga slating i access the internet via one and as for y2k problems the amiga never had one.
If the original poster would like to reply with more info (if there is any ) i could try and solve problem or refer to someone who can.

could just be a hardware problem?
The Amiga Line was durable, but it's
starting to get REALLY old now.
Still a nice computer though, but I'm glad
I didn't stick with it, my AMD K6-2-450mhz
just blows it away.

The Amiga is a classic computer. I sounds like just a disk drive problem, you might just have to clean the drive.
