Can anyone tell me where to find command.com for Dos 5.0? I was looking at Powertrip's site and noticed that the site has a copy of Windows 3.1 on it. Maybe you can tell me which W31 file has Command.com on it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Win31 does not have command.com. It only comes with DOS both of which are two totally different things. Mostly because DOS 5 is the operating system and Win31 is an application. What this means is they are not integrated like Win95 & 98. You will have to find someone who has a copy of DOS 5 and have them send you command.com which can be found in the root of the C: drive.

Okay, thanks. I thought Dos came bundled with Windows 3.1 because on my old Lazer computer Dos 4.0 came with it's operating system.

You can download a full copy of MS-DOS 5.0 from www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk COMMAND.COM will be on Disk 1

You need MS-DOS installed for Windows 3.1 to work, and yes most 'New' PCs were bundled with both! But they were 2 individul packages.

Cool. Are you referring to the first Windows 3.1 disk file on your site? Thanks for all the help.

All of you read the posts. You need full MS-DOS Disk Set AND Windows 3.1 Disk Set to run Windows 3.1

You can download both from:

www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk

You can have MS-DOS 5.0, 6.0 or 6.22
plus
Windows 3.1, 3.11 & Windows for Workgroups 3.11

All PowerLoad MS-DOS Disk Sets have Bootable Disks where original disk was bootable!

Got that, Everyone Happy?

How about, A Thank You, every Now and Then ? ?
