when Win98 is working, I want to use ms-dos promt windows to run some *.bat file which I prepared before. My question is When I want to absulately close that Ms-dos window, what should I write in the *.bat file.
writing "exit" in the *.bat file as a code it does not work I still see the ms-dos when I run *.bat file. windows I have to close it manually.
tell me what is the code to close ms-dos promt window..

Right click on the shortcut to the batch file, and select Program tab, then check the "Close on exit" box!:)>

Anyone know why exit doesn't work?

You could try

cls
exit

because I think if anything is left on the screen it will not close.
