Hello All, Problem: When remote user's (On Win95/98/NT/2000) dial into our NT4.0 RAS the login script has auto software updates that tend to take to much time over a dial up connection. I need a way to test the Remote Connection Speed or type that will return errorlevels. i.e; If Connection=="Modem" GOTO CancelScript... Or maybe just have the script skip the software updates. If some can tell me how to test the connection type or speed and get errorlevels, I can do the rest. Thanks!

Are the people not dialing in are on a lan, run ipconfig at and look for a ppp adapter or a nic adapter. If they are not using ppp, or it has a nonused ip, then you know they are on the lan. Of if you are using a numbering scheme on the lan and the nic device does not conform to that, you know that they are dialing in. Look and see what you have for adapters and play w/ that.
