Can anybody tell me how to change part of a File by running a .BAT file

E.g. I have a .TFR file containing the line

SYSTEM XXXXXX

I need to run a .BAT file to change XXXXXX to the value of a variable I input but not change any of the other data in the .TFR file

hope this is clear enough.
