Help! I have to re-install a game through dos, but when I restart in ms-dos mode, it won't let me change to my cdrom drive
I can do it using the ms-prompt in windows, but it won't let me install then!

You need to install dos drivers for your cdrom in the config.sys file and run mscdex from the autoexec.bat file

Alright, okay I've got one thing to say:
Huh?
I'm sorry, but I have no idea what that means.

With the CD drive should have been a floppy disk named CD Drivers (something like that)

If you haven't got it, note the make, model and any other markings on your CD drive. head of to the website of the CD manufacturer or www.drivershq.com

Sorry, once you are able to find your drivers install them in your config.sys file and MSCDEX in your autoexec.bat file. They should be in your root directory C:\ if not, create them with a text editor like notepad or edit.

To load the drivers use the text editor and edit the config.sys file using this syntax:

DEVICE = C:\CDROM\CDROMDRV.SYS /D:CDROM

(however substitute the correct path of the file and cdromdrv.sys for what ever your driver is)

In your autoexec.bat file it should look like this:

MSCDEX /D:CDROM

If you have a scsi cdrom, you need to load an ASPI manager for the adapter you are using before the cdrom driver in the config.sys file. Everthing else is the same.
