Comment:

I have just installed an Oak Technology CD-ROM Driver but when the computer starts it comes up with "Illegal option
usage: MSCDEX [/E/K/S/V] [/D:...] [/L:] [/M:]
What shall I do to get the cd-rom drive working. I am using MS-DOS 6.22.

Your autoexec.bat should look something like;

C:\DOS\MSCDEX.exe /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10

The device label (the /D: switch) should match to what is in your config.sys cd driver file, ie;

DEVICE=C:\CDROM\MTMCDAI.SYS /D:MTMIDE01

Of course your paths and filenames will be different, but ensure the /D: labels match in both of your files.
