I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem: formatted hard drives of a friend, thinking he had cdrom drivers. After searching on the Internet, I found the drivers, but don't know how to update his autoexec.bat and config.sys files for these drivers. He has a Matsushita (model CR581-M)CDROM located in what should be E:/ If anyone has any ideas on how to get it working, I would greatly appreciate it.

The autoexec.bat should look like
MSCDEX /D:CDROM
The config.sys should look like
Device = device driver.extension /D:CDROM
You will need to know where the files are, and add the correct path to them. For example, mscdex is usually in the dos directory. I would make a directory called cdrom and copy the drivers there, and then include the path in the config.sys file.
