Hi, I'm trying to play a dos game but my cd dvd drive is not recognized in dos. I get the error "no cd". I know I'm supposed to put code in autoexec.bat and config.sys but so far all of the code I found has not worked. Any help?

I had the same problem. I created a Startup disk in Win98 (since it has excellent CD-ROM support). Then I edited the autoexec and config files on the boot disk to remove the RAM drive it normally creates (basically just delete any line that doesn't look like it pertains to the CD-ROM) The only problem is that my soundcard won't function in this environment, can't figure out how to edit the config.sys properly. If you don't have win98 just e-mail me. I'd be happy to forward you a copy of the autoexec and config.sys I created.
If that didn't work you can simply find the cd-rom portion of your autoexec and config files in windows and copy them to dos files.Drop me a line with more info on your system and i will try and help more.

As I understand you have Windows installed. Try to run your game in DOS box under Windows. Actually almost all DOS games run fine under Windows.
