CD Boot Disk

I used the method shown at /www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/cdrom/#makedisk to create a boot disk to give to my brother so that he can re-partition, and reformat his laptop which has no floppy disk drive. After creating the CD, I tried it on my desktop (WinXP Pro) and it successfully booted to DOS. However, when I removed the CD, re-started my computer and reset the disk boot sequence to its original state (i.e. first boot device floppy), I found that it started up to a DOS prompt A:\. I could change directory to C:\ but that didn't show a win file, and I couldn't re-start Windows unless I changed the boot sequence so that C:\, the hard disk, was the first boot device. I had assumed that no changes would be made to the machine as would be the case if I'd used a floppy boot disk. I'd be most grateful if anyone can advise me what I can do to return my machine to its pre-CD boot disk state.
