can't print edit menu prints ok in 98

This epson sc photo820 prints fine in win98. But the customer has a dos program he needs to print from and is unable to. I tried printing the edit menus and also printscreen. NADA! I even tried *.txt >lpt1 as well as *.txt >prn still no results. I also checked the settings in the bios which indicate both epp and ecp enabled. If anyone has the 411 on this fix I would be very grateful. Also I was wondering if I should add anything to the config.sys or autoexec.bat files.
