Comment:
Hi I have MS-Dos 6.2 on 3 zip-files I format the disks and give their names DISK 1 and so on then i extract the files direct to the disks. Then when I'm gonna install Dos it just asking for disk 1. i have tried this again and again at least four times and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

I believe that the disk label requires 6 spaces between the word "disk" and the number (or maybe I'm thinking of something else?) - give it a try.

Is your disk one bootable? If not ,sys the disk one with a boot disk from MS-DOS 6.22. Do you have a file named fddsetup.exe? If so it can be used to install dos.May be you have an upgrade version. You may have to sys the hard drive with an older version like from MS-DOS 5.0 boot disk:do sys c: ,reboot and then run setup from a C dos prompt with the fddsetup. Check the label of each disk: disk then 6 spaces and in the last space the number 1 to 3 respectively.Good luck.

I think Jboy is correct. If I remember correctly the disk label does require 6 spaces between disk and disk number like this: (Don't include the stars, they just represent spaces here!)
DISK******1 DISK******2 DISK******3

I have formatted the disks and named them as all you guys said and its not an upgrade version because i have used these zip files before. I don't think I have a fddsetup.exe, I just write "install" in the a: prompt and setup begins, then it start to ask for disk 1.
