I have an older computer that originaly had win3.1 now with an older win95 upgrade. Everything seemed to work fine until I recently tried to go into dos mode. It won't let me. I can't even reboot the machine in dos mode. I tried to update to a newer version of win95 but it won't let me. When I run scandisk from the windows utilities it says everything is fine. But when I try to run the dos scandisk off of the win95 upgrade disk it says that "a device attached to this program isn't working properly" as a matter of fact, it says this when I try to run any dos program? What is going on? Am I missing some driver or something. I am afraid I deleted something I probably shouldn't have. It won't even let me unistall the older win95 and install another version. If anyone has anything that might help it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I think the COMMAND.COM file in C:\WINDOWS directory got corrupted. Try to copy Command.com from the root of C:\ drive to C:\Windows directory.

Good luck, Igor
