Windows XP is a different operating system from the previous Windows 95 to ME series. Use the Windows XP install disks set available from Microsoft to make sure your partition is compatible.Use the tools from Windows XP CD particularly if your partition is not FAT 32 but NTFS.Check this with the fdisk from the Win XP CD.If you happen to have NTFS and want to use FAT 32, use delpart.exe from a diskette dos prompt and delete the NTFS.The program has an easy to use graphical interface asking you if you want to delete the partitions. http://www.mesich.com Look under Freeware. Good luck.
