cant format ?

I had xp home on my laptop and wanted 98 back on. So i deleted the partition with fdisk now i cant format c: it says no such drive ... and when i run windows 98 install disk it goes through but when it goes to format it says "set up cannot install windows 98 on your computer and error was detedted while formatting your primary harddrive partition" ????

I still cant do anything. when i run killdisk it goes through but it doesnt change anything. and when i run fdisk and look at the portition it says 84 % used.... what would be causing this??? aand when i try to boot to c: it says missing operating system..

Kill disk and http://www.samsung.com/Products/HardDiskDrive/support/faqs/faqs_20000120_0000000036.htm should wipe all partition info from drive, is drive recognised correctly in BIOS?????

After you deleted the xp partition, you ~did~ create a new primary dos partition (C:) and make it active before attempting to format, right?
