This all happened right after the y2k change. O.K when I turn on the computer (AST 486SX 50mhz/s megs of ram/and 1.4gig hard drive) it tells me computer can not start, but i have a boot disk. So when I get to a:\ I can't install to the hard drive it says it dosn't exist and goes back to a:\ dos is installed but installed to a floppy. How do I get c:\ to work. Because when I type c:\ the computer says invalid drive. P.S I also can't install windows and the hard drive has been cleared becuause of the Y.2K.

I had that happen to my computer too. Though it wasn't because of Y2K. I had to format my HDD because of some errors that were on it. I had a boot disk, and my computer did get into dos,but it also said that c: was an invalid drive. I tried looking inside the computer and found no problems, but then I tried different boot disks. And that fixed the problem!
