Reply: (edit)Try setting your bios boot sequence to cdrom first, and put the win2k cd in the drive. If it won't boot, try downloading a boot disk from www.bootdisk.com.... set the bios to boot sequence to A:, C: then try running setup assuming the bootdisk finds the cdrom drive.

Reply: (edit)Sorry, I am not too familiar with setting up windows 2000. Run fdisk on the hard drive to make sure it is fat 32. Select option 4 (view partitions). If it is not already fat 32, try deleting the partition, and creating a new one (option 1). You will need to format the drive afterwards, so keep the bootdisk in the floppy drive. After formatting (don't add the system files) reboot with cdrom support, and see if you are able to run setup. If it is fat 32, try using fdisk /mbr and then running setup. I am sure someone else will offer some ideas as well. Hang in there.

Reply: (edit)Silly little girl! So ya think Win2k installs tha same as Win9x? Wrong - it installs like NT. Different initialisation file name too - and not where ya expect. Well - setup is not the file ya want. Look in the i386 directory for - well learn! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Reply: (edit)if you cant get your cdrom in DOS, open your computer (unplug it and touch metal) and see if the cdrom is plugged into to the sound card. if it is, plug it into the motherboard and it might work. change it back when your done
