using this command to remove system commander.
fdisk /mbr
After that your computer should run normally. If you need to use system commander, boot to a floppy and then reinstall it.

You should try re-installing system commander, I don't think it was actually neccesary to format your hard drive, but I could be wrong. I hope any info I just typed helped you in ANY way.

To clarify: Fdisk /mbr DOES NOT format your hard drive. All it does it reset the master boot record on your hard drive. Certain progams such as System Commander (and disk overlay programs too) alter the Master Boot Record in order to run. When the programs associated with that MBR are removed, your hard drive will no longer boot unless you reset the mbr. Which is what fdisk /mbr does.
