Hi, I am trying to run a Dos-based program on a P IV machine. I have changed the COnfig.NT (files=250, buffers=60) and added a line in the Autoexec.NT (SET CLIPPER=F200). Still while running reports or processing the data the machine hangs and says Cannot perform operatio: Low Memory. I have checked mem /c - Free memory is more then 600K. What should I do to resolve this issue?

AUTOEXEC.NT/CONFIG.NT are W2K/XP NOT W9x/DOS:

....you need to post in the forum appropriate for your NT Based O/S, as MS-DOS is only an emulated NTVDM in theses not REAL MS-DOS.

Since it's a DOS app [maybe CA Clipper ?] try running it in DOS.

QEMM is about as good as memory managers get.

We don't know yet what he has. But it ain't brain surgery to boot on a floppy. Images available at many fine sites; free.

YES.

"but he has no MS-DOS !!"

He has the "NTVDM" faked "MS-DOS" :-D

Then he can download FreeDOS or Enhanced DR-DOS. Both had got important updates
recently.

Sure, but everything he needs can go on a DOS 6.22 floppy.

HINT: this is an old DOS app.
