Can Windows for workgroups 3.11 work on DR-DOS 6.0? I did try it but it didnt work for some reason or another, i know at one point Microsoft got a bit shirty as you could run windows on another DOS make. But i dont know when. Can anyone clariify that this is the case, and that if WFW3.11 CAN work on DR-DOS 6.0, how?

I believe only PC-DOS version 5/6/7 and MS-DOS version 5/6 is compatable out-of-the-box. Could try asking here as well:

According to this, Windows 3.1 should be able to (but it doesn't mention WFWG 3.11):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DR-DOS

"Though DR-DOS was apparently 100% binary compatible with applications written for MS-DOS, Microsoft nevertheless expended considerable effort in attempts to break compatibility. In one example, they inserted code into a beta version Windows 3.1 to return a non-fatal error message if it detected a non-Microsoft DOS. This check came to be known as the AARD code[2]. With the detection code disabled (or if the user canceled the error message), Windows ran perfectly under DR-DOS and its successor Novell DOS. The code was present, but disabled in the released version of Windows 3.1"
