My WinXPpro system crashed and I need to save a large number of files from the PC before I do a recovery (that erases everything). I have used ReadNTFS to move some of the files to zip disks... but that is very slow and I am out of room. So I want to burn the files on to a CD which holds a lot more data than my 100meg zips.
Using DOS I have been able to access the CD drive and using NTFSPro I also have access to the hard disk... now I need software to burn the CD... can anyone help???

Thanks but I already tried this avenue... DOSCDROAST has a program "File2CD.exe" that allows me to copy an ISO file to a CD... however my problem is that I have to create an ISO file on the NTFS hard drive and I haven't figured out how to do that from a DOS environment. I couldn't find a program to copy files or directories directly to the CD.
Furthermore, the documentation on DOSCDROAST states that "DosCDroast Beta 2 is based on Golden Hawk's DAO16 v.3.9 freeware parts"... when I previously tried to use the DAO software I realized that it probably works when you open a DOS shell from Windows, but will not work from a strictly DOS ebvironment. When I tried, from a DOS 4.0 version, to run the program "COPY2CD.exe" I got the response "This program cannot be run from a DOS mode"!!
Still looking for help....

The latest versions of Norton Ghost claim to be able to do this, but I have never tried that function.
Further, you would have to install GHOST on some computer in Windows to get the DOS floppy. You would be better off trying some form of interlink or laplink.

GMD999 - I am having exactly the same problem as you and have also tried DOSCDROAST without any luck.
Please let me know if you have found a method of burning this data yet. Thanks,
Stephen
