First you need a network connection for your
laptop that is compatible with the existing
network.

Does laptop have an internal network card?

Does laptop have PCMCIA slot?

What is the existing network?

Get connection, cable or cable plus adapter?

Laptop
Which DOS?

Network
What OS?

Answer these and we can proceed.

You could try using latest Norton Ghost2002 as it has an option to build a boot floppy with network drivers built in

Try Microsoft LAN MANAGER.
You could download it from the following:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/Clients/LANMAN/

you need the DOS drivers for you lan adapter and some information about the lan you are connecting to (protocols used, tcp/ip address ...).
