I have recently reformatted my 20Gb laptop harddrive in response to a WinXP crash. The main problem lies in the fact that I cannot access the PCMCIA DVD-ROM (Port NoteWorthy NWDVD01-Q6) from DOS...and that means I cannot install WinXP. I can boot from a USB Floppy device and i have made my Toshiba Portege 3490CT bootable. I have tried to network it to my main Computer (Cel 1.3Ghz/80Gb/512Mb/100Ether/&more/WinXP Pro) so i can copy the installation files across that way, but Microsoft's NetClient for DOS doesnt recognise the Intel 82557-based PCI Ethernet Adapter which is in a removable Port Replicator. I have run out of ideas of what I can do, and I really need the laptop functioning ASAP.

I have done that, but erred with a "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" BSOD!!! I have borrowed a friends Targus NoteWorthy and booted the system. So all is well, till the moon gets out of phase and Windows chucks another epileptic fit, and we start again....Thanks guys!
