Ich schätze das geht überhaupt nicht.
Bei 'ner Floppy kann DOS nicht booten
wenn der Diskettenschreibschutz aktiv ist.
Ich nehme an DOS muß auf den Boot-Datenträger
schreiben können, sonst gehts nicht. Das
dürfte bei einer CD nicht der Fall sein.

natürlich kann dos von einer schreibgeschützten diskette booten!! wenn du nero hast, dann ist es ganz einfach eine boot-fähige DOS CD zu erstellen! du brauchst lediglich eine BOOT-Diskette (floppy) und klickst im auswahlmenu von nero auf Boot-CD!! dann gibst du das laufwerk an in dem du die boot-disk hast, und voila, fertig!
wenn du MS-DOS 6.22 als CD image haben möchstest, dann schick mir ne mail (weakmum@gmx.de)

Nero kann sogar eine bootfähige Partition (natürlich < ~700MB)auf CD-ROM brennen. Dann ist man nicht auf 1.44MB beschränkt!!

Ich habe das versucht und das Booten klappt auch wunderbar. Das CD-ROM Laufwerk wird zu C: und alle nachfolgenden Laufwerke verschieben sich.

Unschönerweise bekomme ich lauter 'allgemeine Schreibfehler' auf C:, OBWOHL ich gar nicht auf C: schreiben will.

Und das noch bevor überhaupt auf die AUTOEXEC.BAT zugegriffen wird; genauer: ab der Ausführung von CONFIG.SYS.

Meine aktuelle CONFIG.SYS lautet:

Lastdrive=Z
Dos=High,Umb
DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS
Devicehigh=BOOT\P4\Net\Ifshlp.sys
Shell=c:\command.com D:\ /e:2048 /f /msg /p
country=049,850,windows\command\country.sys
DEVICE=BOOT\P4\CPQIDECD.SYS /D:IDECD1

Das sehr seltsame dabei ist, dass wenn ich dieselbe Startsequenz bei einer schreibgeschützten Diskette anwende, KEIN Schreibzugriff auf A: erfolgt.

Hat da einer 'ne Idee woran das liegen könnte/wie das zu umgehen wäre?

From DOS: Just type "sys a:" or "format a: /s" and copy autoexec.bat and config.sys as well as your cd-rom and mouse drivers to a diskette (should also copy emm386.sys and himem.sys).

From Win98: Go to Control Panel / Add-Remove programs / Startup Disk and create a startup disk. You can change the default setup for this disk by modifying the files in C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\EBD I believe.

To put it on a CD, use Nero or EZCDCreator, create a bootable CD and insert the floppy when it asks you.
