If I want a computer to boot from the extended partition or I want windows to be installed in extended partition and I want it to work like that? Then what would I have to do? Because I had seen this problem alot that a Hard drive would be ok but there would be some bad sectors in the start and because of those or that bad sector it would not be usable and I have also heard that there is a way to change fix this problem by making it boot from the logical drives. So any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

If you've got a recurring issue with bad sectors *anywhere* on a hard disk, booting from a logical partition isn't the answer. If this is a chronic problem, something somewhere is wrong, defective, mis-configured, bad, or otherwise screwed up.

The drive is probably on its way out if you have bad sectors of any kind, and formatting or doing a zero-fill won't provide anything but a temporary remedy.

even though your hard disk is already screwed up,for ur general information,it is possible to boot from an extended partition just fdisk and set the active partition to the logical drive in the extended partition where u installed the os.try this only after installing though, otherwise ur in for a nice surprise.

I simply don't understand why peaple insist on using a hard drive they know is bad once it starts going out you are not going to have anything but trouble. I suggest getting another one they are rather cheap and will pay for themselves in the long run(frustration & loss of data)
