I need to create a boot disk for a SCSI based
Pentium machine so I can load Win 95 from the
CDROM drive. I have tried the Win 98 boot disk
but it doesn't seem to have the correct SCSI
driver for the CDROM to be enabled. Any suggestions
would be most helpful. These are machines that
have been reformatted and then donated to the
school where I work. I have worked with IDE
systems but the SCSI system is new to me.
Thanks,

In order to load the cdrom driver, you need to know the model of the scsi host adapter. If the scsi adapter is built into the motherboard, enable it in the bios. If it is an add in card you might need to open it and enable the bios. This will tell you what the model is. Once you know that download the dos drivers for the adapter.
As an example for an Adaptec 1542 host adapter, you would add these lines to your bootdisk.
Autoexec.bat
C: or A:\DOS\MSCDEX /D:CDROM1
Config.sys
DEVICE=C: or A:\ADAPTEC\ASPI4DOS.SYS
DEVICE=C: or A:\ADAPTEC\ASPICD.SYS /D:CDROM1The C: or A: depends on which drive you use for the boot device, and you would need to verify the correct directories to the files.
