bios/cmos for IBM PS 1

I have a IBM PS 1 type 2121-c42, s/n 23-2603033 that the previous owner removed/deleted/formatted the hard drive and deleted DOS along with his personal files. In the process drive"A" access was disabled so now I cannot load any replacement OS as this is the only drive. My question is how do I access the bios or cmos to enable drive A again so I can get this thing running again? Thank you, Ralph

It would be nice if I could use a setup disk or any disk for that matter, except my one and only drive (A) is disabled. I can't load a thing until I get into BIOS and change the settings.
Thanks, Ralph

Ralph,
On older IBM PC's the only way into the BIOS is by the Setup Diskette. You will need to create it on a differant machine!

The 2121-C42 PS/1 has VGA colour ,40M hard disk, 2M ram memory and 1.44 Diskette drive. It has little provision for expansion like the more modern AT computers had.It is a 386SX model.Follow Ralph's advice and you should be able to test the PS/1 .Good luck.

Summary: Ok - it doesn't sound like it's booting from a normal floppy, more like from a messed up hard drive. Assuming that it's a good bootdisk, check the CMOS setup & ensure that 'boot from floppy' (or simil...
