What is a ac timer .....

The machine is using a program but the only way you can turn it off is a reboot...

An the program can only update the timestampel when it is rebooting...

An ac timer plugs into an outlet (120 VAC) and you can plug a light or something into it. It has a "clock" dial with small "dogs" (usually four of them) which you can set around the dial to turn the unit power on and off. Usually sold for use with lights when you're on vacation to thwart burglars etc.

What is the nature of the "program with no exit option"? A reboot is the only way to exit it?
