I have a Cleveo 9500 notebook and i am trying to install a cdrom.I installed msdos 6.22. When writing into autoexec.bat and config to accept and identify cdrom(oak), do you erase everything in those two files and if so, what do you type in there exactly? Do you make changes on the diskette or once its in the system, after i loaded everything..i am frustrated right now and going nuts..HELP ME!

You need to add the lines into both the config.sys and autoexec.bat.
config.sys
device=[path]oakcdrom.sys /d:cd001autoexec.bat
[path]mscdex.exe /d:cd001there may be additional parameters for each command. Also if this is an external CD, there may be additional commands for the system to use the PCMCIA card interface, or the parallel port.
You should test them on boot floppy, and when they work, copy to the root directory of the hard drive.
Those lines are the minimum needed to activate the cdrom drive. DOS usually needs other programs to manage memory, assign resources, etc.
