Comment:

Created desktop shortcut to Dos-mode/Command.com, which creates editable autoexec.bat and config.sys, which get rolled up into a .pif file on exit from dos-mode so W's reboots normally.

But if normal exit from dos-mode is not executed, as by power off, then system gets into a boot-to-dos-mode loop 'cause autoexec.bat and config.sys are not rolled up/hidden in the .pif file, and the system boot sequence executes autoexec.bat which returns to dos-mode. Fix is to safe mode and rename or delete the offending files.

Question...Does the .pif file still exist, and normal dos-mode operation may continue??
(Believe it should, but chicken to try the test exercise).;-)
Thanks, John C.
