Hi I need to config the jetdirect of my printer HP Deskjet 1600CM. For that i need first to give an IP address for the printer. I've tried the ipconfig and the arp but i believe the problem it's me because i can't do it right. Thanks for the time.

I don't think you can use IPConfig for anything but the computer you're currently on. ARP should work though. Do you know the MAC address of the jetdirect? That's all you really need to know. You also have to assign an IP Address that's not already in use. Ping the IP address before you assign it to make sure you don't get a reply. Also you may want to ask your network manager which IP addresses are available. What error message are you getting with ARP? Are you on an NT network? If you have access to the DHCP mananger program, you can also use it to reserve an IP for that particular MAC address. Give me more details and I will see if I can't assist you further.
