Oooh, another nutcase in the works. My favourite site is:The Art of ASM A good compiler to start with is NASM Very strict. You WILL get pissed-off, but you won't have any bad habits. I'm sure the other nutcases have their favourites to add.

Tell you what - I have been through almost all the tutorials on assmbly which have been posted on the Net. The best possible way to learn is to grab hold of a text book and burn the midnight oil. If you are a true and tried nutcase, probably you will. Else if you want some dissolved and dissipated information from nerds such as me, then go ahead. The best possible info you can get is possibly at Randal Hyde's Assembly Language web page. The compiler I use is Turbo Assembler - which I feel is the best, though I have got nothing against NASM which I think is equally good.
Personally, I feel that as a beginner you should not get confused by all sorts of program structures. The best way is to stick to any particular program methodology and then expand to bigger stuff.
